Poster Studies of Maribou in a Grotto
Poster study by Tony Ryder
Last week was the second week of our school year here at the Ryder Studio. We begin the year with two weeks of painting poster studies.
We set up this three-hour pose on Friday morning as a color mixing challenge: iridescent fabric, warm golden incandescent primary light on one side of the model, and on the opposite side a second light colored with a blue gel.
Our model Maribou meditates while she poses.
John Reger adds a few finishing touches to his poster study.
